It seems that when you finally have the kids, it is de rigueur to post a few pics of them in their get-ups. So, I'm a little late to the party, as usual. I present, the last week in pictures:
The groundbreaking
has finally begun on the new house, after almost two years. It has taken us that long to get the old one torn down! Unscrupuloous demolition guy ran off with our deposit...long story...
We took a 4 day (total) road trip to my Homecoming last weekend.
This is how they were on the road, most of the time, since we timed the driving around their naps.
Not to be outdone by D, the girls were outfitted in my alma mater's colors, too.
No, that it is not me.
Then we picked out pumpkins.
The girls had to get a picture in the outfits my SIL, the ass, with 5 daughters of her own, bought. Hey inlaws, let me dress my own kids, you had your chance! Nic discovered that dead grass tastes kind of good.
My mom holds the girls in their costumes.
This is one of the few that isn't blurry. First time they ever rode in a wagon, and they LOVED it.
(I think the headband is making Nic's ears stick out a little, but it just makes her look that much more elfen, I guess) Oh, and their Jack o' Lanterns.
I mangaged to carve both of them, very un-artistically, in 1/2 an hour, while Nic played in her exersaucer and Julia took a longer nap, than usual.
If you have a dachshund, its an unwritten rule that they have to be hot dogs for at least one Halloween in their lives.
This was their year. Of course, they didn't fit right, since dachshunds are notoriously barrel-chested.
The morning after, the girls seemed a little miffed that they were getting the same ol' Cheeri0s and bananas, instead of something from that Trick or Treat bucket over there.

Happy 1st Halloween, Babies! Great pictures! Is it just me, or does that look like me holding Julia?!? Strange.
Love the outfits from ass-in-law. Very cute!
Congrats on the groundbreaking. Hope it goes smoothly for you, but really, what ever does, right?
Oh, and don't worry about the elfin look. I've got one of those kids, too, and it just adds so much more to the cuteness + personality factor!
Great update! Now, I've got to get to mine. Don't even have pics downloaded yet. Argh...

The costumes are beautiful, but it is too bad that you didn't have a chance to pick them out yourself. Oy.
The girls are so adorable, though. And the dogs and pumpkins look pretty great too!
